Hero Guides — Generations, Roles & Investment
Hero development needs its own decision system. A newer hero is not automatically a better immediate investment than a highly developed older hero. Compare generation, stars, skills, gear, widget level, acquisition cost and the game mode where the hero will actually be used.
- First active article: Generation 3 Transition Guide — Mia, Logan, Greg and the future of your Generation 2 heroes.
- Planned subjects: Lucky Wheel planning, rally and garrison roles, Arena lineups, shards, widgets and Hero Gear.
- Investment rule: choose a reachable star target before spending universal shards or exclusive-widget materials.

Expert System & Dawn Academy — First-Day Priorities
The Expert System adds Tundra Trek encounters, Affinity progression, resident Experts and specialized Expert Skills. Because early resources may be limited, check the available Experts and their bonuses before spending Books, Gifts or Sigils.
- First-day focus: complete the tutorial, claim all available Trek Supplies and confirm which Experts are available in State 4272.
- Choose a purpose: general account growth, Bear Hunt performance or Arena progression should determine the first Expert priority.
- Do not spend blindly: exact unlocks, supply timings and Expert availability must be verified in the live State 4272 interface after rollout.

03
Growth Priority — Do Not Spread Too Thin
The fastest useful growth is focused growth. Do not upgrade everything evenly just because it is available. Prioritize unlocks and power that help the whole account: Furnace level, required buildings, research, troop tier, heroes and gear.
- Plan 2–3 Furnace levels ahead: pre-stage resources, construction speedups and required buildings before starting expensive upgrades.
- Do not empty every item randomly: many items score during Hall of Chiefs, King of Icefield, Officer Project or SvS-style phases.
- Ask before huge spends: if you are unsure whether an upgrade scores today, wait and confirm with leadership or the live event panel.
04
Furnace & Buildings — Your Account Gate
The Furnace is the core city building. It controls progression gates and determines when many important systems become available. Keep the required buildings ready so the Furnace is not blocked by a missing camp, Embassy or Research Center requirement.
- Furnace first: it sets the pace for your city, troop tiers, building caps and later systems.
- Known unlock gates: Drill Camp around F13, Hero Gear around F15, Pets/Beast Cage around F18, Mastery Forging around F20, Chief Gear around F22 and Chief Charms around F25.
- Do not ignore Embassy and Infirmary: they matter during Crazy Joe, castle fights, SvS and defensive operations.
05
Research — Permanent Power, Not Flashy Power
Research is slow, but it compounds. Active combat players should prioritize military value while keeping enough economic research to sustain construction, gathering and long timers.
- Combat path: Troop HP, troop attack for your main troop type, march speed, march capacity and combat-relevant nodes.
- Economy path: gathering speed and construction speed are useful early because they help every future upgrade.
- Do not scatter: finish meaningful branches instead of lightly touching every line.
06
Troops — Train, Promote, Preserve
Troops are not only a power number. They are your event score, rally value, defense value and SVS survival pool. Promote old troops when possible and maintain a usable reserve instead of sending everything into one march.
- Promote upward: lower-tier troops lose value as the state ages; upgrade/promote toward your highest available tier.
- Know the roles: Infantry protects the front line, Lancers support flanking/counters, Marksmen are a major damage source.
- Do not auto-fill blindly: for rallies and castle fights, follow R4/R5 composition calls rather than using random full marches.
07
Hero Gear — Strengthen the Heroes You Actually Use
Hero Gear should follow your real usage. Equip and improve the heroes you actually deploy in Arena, Exploration, Expedition, rallies and defense. Do not spread premium materials across many heroes before your main set is stable.
- Drill Camp matters: it helps keep heroes usable with less wasted leveling effort once unlocked.
- Hero Gear: enhancing gear increases buffs for that specific gear piece; use Hero Gear EXP/components carefully.
- Mastery and exclusive gear: save high-value materials for main combat heroes unless an event scoring window makes spending worthwhile.
08
Chief Gear & Charms — Global Army Buffs
Chief Gear and Charms strengthen your army globally. They are expensive, so they should be upgraded with a plan, especially when event points are available.
- Unlocks: Chief Gear starts around Furnace 22; Chief Charms around Furnace 25.
- Gear mapping: Cap/Watch support Lancer stats, Coat/Pants support Infantry stats, Ring/Weapon support Marksman stats.
- Balanced tiers: do not push only one piece far ahead if the next tier on other pieces gives better total value.
09
Resources & Gathering — Quiet Work Wins Events
Good accounts are built before the event starts. Gathering, resource discipline and correct hero usage prevent panic spending during Furnace upgrades and preparation phases.
- Use gathering heroes: Charlie for Coal, Cloris for Meat, Smith for Iron and Eugene for Wood when available.
- Protect gatherers: follow NAP and event rules; during kill events, safety rules may change.
- Keep reserves: do not spend every resource before SVS, HoC or KoI windows.
10
Healing & Safety — Do Not Waste Speedups
Healing discipline is one of the easiest ways to save thousands of speedups. The goal is to keep troops fighting without burning every healing item in one panic click.
- Batch healing: heal in smaller batches, call for alliance help, then repeat when helps are available.
- Do not mass heal by default: huge full heals often waste help clicks and speedups.
- Shield when offline: during SVS, BIA and hostile windows, an unshielded city becomes free points for enemies.
11
Event Discipline — Spend When It Scores
Most competitive progress comes from timing. The same upgrade can be ordinary on one day and extremely valuable during another event phase. Always read the active event task before using rare items.
- SVS-style prep: construction, research, training, hero shards, pets, chief gear, chief charms, essence stones and gear widgets may score on different days.
- General rule: if an item is rare, wait for a scoring window unless using it now gives immediate strategic value.
- Events page later: Bear Trap, Crazy Joe, Foundry, Frostfire, BIA and Alliance Mobilization should have their own detailed playbooks.

Verification note
This Guides page combines the uploaded INT guide drafts with public Whiteout Survival references and now links to dedicated Hero Guides and Expert System knowledge pages. It intentionally avoids locking exact point values into normal guide text where those values can change by event season, state age or patch. Use this page as a strategic hub, then confirm exact values in the live event panel before spending.
